Install ChartSkins for Safari (Mac)
6 steps · about 3 min
Safari can only run extensions that come inside a Mac app, so ChartSkins for Safari is a small app that carries the extension. Once it’s on, everything happens in Safari: the ChartSkins button in the toolbar is where you pick skins, open the daily case, browse the Workshop and add your own media.
- 1
Download it
On chartskins.com/download, click Download for Safari. You get a small .dmg (signed and notarized with Apple, so it opens normally).
- 2
Install it
Open the .dmg and drag ChartSkins for Safari into Applications. Open it from Applications.
- 3
Turn it on in Safari
In the app, click Open Safari Settings and tick ChartSkins in the Extensions list. (Or in Safari: Settings (⌘,) → Extensions.) If it isn’t listed, quit Safari and open it again.
- 4
Sign in
In the app, sign in with the same email as your account. Safari follows along by itself.
- 5
Allow it on TradingView
Open a chart on tradingview.com, click the ChartSkins button in Safari’s toolbar and choose Always Allow on This Website. Your skin appears behind the candles.
- 6
Use it from the toolbar
That same ChartSkins button is the whole product: skins, the daily case, the Workshop and My media. The app’s Skins and Workshop tabs are big previews; Use on my chart there sends a pick to your open chart tab.
Good to know
- • Updating: install the new version over the old one in Applications, then quit and reopen Safari so it picks up the new extension.
- • Nothing showing after you allowed it? Quit Safari and open it again, then reload the chart. Safari sometimes keeps running an old copy of an extension.
