Privacy Policy

What stays on your computer
- Your settings: chosen skin, dim, blur, speed and other preferences.
- Videos, GIFs and images you add. They're stored in your browser and never uploaded.
- Your TradingView chart, symbols, layouts and trading activity. ChartSkins does not read, collect or transmit any of it. The only chart setting it changes is the chart background colour, which it saves and restores on your own computer.
What we receive, and why
Only if you activate ChartSkins Pro, the Extension sends our license server:
- Your license key, to confirm with Whop that your membership is active.
- A random install ID created by the Extension, so one key works on one computer at a time. It isn't derived from your hardware and doesn't identify you.
This happens when you activate and roughly every 6–12 hours afterwards. Our hosting provider (Vercel) processes these requests and keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address and request time) for a short period for security and abuse prevention. We don't keep a separate database of keys or install IDs. Whop stores the install ID on your license so it can enforce the one-computer limit.
Legal basis (EEA/UK users): performing our contract with you (verifying your purchase), and our legitimate interest in preventing license abuse.
The Workshop
If you submit to the Workshop, we store:
- the videos and thumbnails you upload (hosted by Vercel Blob storage). Published ones are public;
- your creator handle, your Whop membership ID (or install ID for gifted passes) so we can tie submissions to your account, and the title and tags you enter;
- review decisions and a moderation log.
Signing in to the Workshop uses a short-lived cookie that only says which creator you are. If you report a skin, we store a one-way hash of your IP address to stop duplicate reports, never the IP itself. Withdrawn or rejected uploads are deleted from storage.
Purchases
Payments are handled by Whop. We never see your full card details. Whop shares your purchase details (such as your Whop username, email and membership status) with us as the seller so we can provide support. Whop's privacy policy applies to your purchase.
What we never do
- No analytics, tracking pixels, fingerprinting or advertising.
- No selling, renting or sharing of personal data. We don't "sell" or "share" personal information as defined by California law.
- No access to any website other than TradingView chart pages.
Service providers
- Whop: payments, license keys and membership status.
- Vercel: hosts the website, license server and Workshop media.
- Neon: database for Workshop submissions and moderation.
Your choices and rights
- Delete local data: uninstall the Extension, or remove items in its Locker page.
- Unlink your install ID: reset your key from your Whop orders page.
- Access or deletion requests (including under GDPR/UK GDPR or CCPA/CPRA): contact us below. We'll respond within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for exercising your rights.
Children
ChartSkins isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Security
License checks run over HTTPS. Pro passes are cryptographically signed, and only the license server holds the signing key. No system is perfectly secure, but we collect so little that there's very little to protect.
Changes
We'll update the date above when this policy changes. Material changes will be announced through the Extension or Whop.
