Chart colours: candles that match your skin
5 steps · about 2 min · 3 questions
A chart colour palette is the set of candle colours (body, border and wick, for up and down) that goes with a wallpaper. Palettes live on each Workshop skin’s page. Equipping one changes only how your candles look on TradingView, never your orders or positions.
- 1
Open a skin
On chartskins.com/workshop open any skin and scroll down to Chart colours. Skins with a 🎨 badge already have palettes.
- 2
Try one
Click a palette and the demo chart at the top switches to those colours. Click it again to stop.
- 3
Equip it
Click Equip. ChartSkins puts the colours on your real TradingView candles (browser extension, Safari, or the desktop app). Switch palettes any time; Back to my colours restores exactly what you had.
- 4
Make your own
Click + Make your own, pick the six colours (or tick *same as body* for borders and wicks), give it a name and save. It’s private: only you see it, in your Locker → Chart colours.
- 5
Publish it (Pro)
Click Publish on one of yours and it appears under Community for everyone, with your creator handle on it. You can unpublish any time. Pro members can publish; saving private palettes is free for everyone.
Good to know
- • No extension on this computer? Copy gives you the hex codes to paste into TradingView → Chart settings → Symbol.
- • The extension popup shows which palette is on under Candle colours, with a Remove button.
Common questions
Will it change my saved layouts?
It changes the candle colours on the chart you’re looking at, like you would in Chart settings. Back to my colours restores what you had before.
Equip does nothing.
Update ChartSkins: palettes need extension 1.0.38 or newer, or the newest desktop app. The page tells you if it’s talking to an old version.
Can I make a palette for a built-in skin?
Not yet. Palettes are per Workshop skin for now.
